IGI and NHSG are working together to create a database of measurements relevant to natural H2 exploration, customising IGI's existing p:IGI+ tool originally written to support oil and gas data visualisation and interpretation.
Based on a shared view that H2 exploration should be driven by a scientific approach integrating geological/fluid flow models and data, we will work together to identify data relevant to H2 exploration, compile this in a standardised database and provide customised methods to present this data in an interpretable format.
IGI will develop the new tool pIGI-H2 to make this data available in an easy-to-use interface, tailored to hydrogen exploration.
We envisage this data can be used to inform and assist in the parametrisation of models of the natural hydrogen system leading to better understanding, and thus improved predictions, of likely areas for hydrogen accumulation and discovery.
